Do these fit the E-Savage without modifications or are they too long?

i don't think so they should bolt straight on as the 2 shocks look almost exactly the same when i used to own a GP savage. if you wanted to you could restrict the amount of shock travel by adding some mods to them but it shouldnt be needed ;) . you could try 4 stock shocks and 4 alliminum shocks as it would probbly give quite good results

they ARE too long and will severly limit the suspension travel...I found out the hard way with the threaded HPI savage shocks....over 100 just to find out they work like crap on the e-savage. Just sit tight and we will have specific e-savage shocks soon enough
