HELP! I have a new Savage and I have a problem with the throttle jumping in a pulse pattern sometimes. Have any of you guys had that problem? Please let me know asap as I would like to make sure that i can enjoy this with my son without issues from the start. THANKS!

Do you mean like when you hold the trigger down, it goes in bursts, rather than just all out?
Did you read up on the speed controller's fail safe mode in the manual? It does something like that. Makes the car stutter really bad when it is over heating. Mine has done it before, and I have to admit that I didn't know what it was at first because I hadn't read the manual.
I think it is best to stop the car and let the electronics cool off when that happens.
What were you doing with the car at the time? (Fast street driving, climbing hills, running in grass, pulling stumps)

Turn&Burn that does sound like the ESC is going into thermal shut down.....
In my opinion the thermal cut off point for the ESC is a bit conservative because when mine did do it the ESC never seemed that hot.....Its not a fault with the product its just hpi doing there best to prevent failures due to overheating...
Installing a 40mm fan over the ESC should totally take care off the problem...
If you drive in a small area or on a high load surface like grass or sand you could also go down a tooth or to on your pinions.....witch by the way is cheep and easy to achieve....

it is definitely overheating. happened to me but now i installed a small 40mm fan on the esc and 92mm fan on the motors and i can run it all day.
by the way where in cali are you? i am in los angeles and its tough to find good bashing spots here.

Phew, my worries are answered, the last time i ran my car i had spent an hour putting a screw in the back of the back bumper to stop it from flipping over when i wheely, so it would just gring along the road when it's wheelying. a quatre of the time the screw mod would work, though sometimes it would wheelie bad then stutter. i stopped immediately and the car was still stuttering, BAD, havent run it again due to rain. Plz god let it fly like the wind.!
