View Full Version : Where to buy in Canada ?

This question is more for Canadian members.
I'm going BL (I have a code for Tower :) and the CAD$ is very high :p : this is the time :D ) and I need 5mm bore pinions.
I did several simulated orders from various places (in USA) and the S&H is way too high (20$ minimum). When I see that a full Hexcrew kit can ship for 4.60$ (but charged 20$ ), I understand where all those sellers make profit.
So is there a place in Canada where I can find 5mm pinions ?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers

I buy a lot of stuff from :
http://www.rcwings.com/
The owner is Chris Martin, I am very pleased to deal with him.
I always ask for a quote with the link from Tower for what I need.
These days, he get same price as tower (or lower) but CDN $, shipping varies depending of size & weight, + no duty charges $$$ to bring that here. Transit time is 3 days to get the stuff here in Québec City.
He is located in Nova Scotia, great service.
I returned a battery pack that was dead after charging 6 times and he exchanged it !
Highly recommended S1

Don't forget you can just drill out most pinions (not the real small ones) to fit the 5mm shaft....Cheap and easy:D
do you try to go at udisco or hobbieville?
http://www.udisco.com/hobbies/francais.htm
(the site is not very nice cut you can see what they have in stock)
http://www.hobbieville.com/
you really have to go to the shop to know

I don't like udisco : bad advices but cheap and just near my home. I like Hobbieville but expensive (asked for the E-FS price : 260$ at least  !!!) and special orders for most of what I need. I will try a call and let u know.
I use ebay, rcmart or great hobbies out of edmonton. they are usually the most expensive, but the fastest shipping, usually have things in 2 days.

Same for me, but in this particular case I'm looking for 5mm pinions and those web sites are useless. Anyway, thank you all for the advices.
