Hi, I'm new here, from Australia, and just bought an E-Savage last weekend. Realised that the stock batteries don't last too long, which I expected anyway... I was about to buy at the same time spare batteries but thought I should do a bit of research first.
Anyway, browsed through eBay (AU) and found a store selling Intellect 4600 x2 with post for $175 brand new... then also found another store selling Vapextech 4600 x2 with post for $128 brand new.
What do you guys think is the better value here? Pay $50 extra for Intellect or just go for BFYB? I am not modding the esav any time soon and just using it for bashing mainly...
And on a side note, how do Vapextech compare to Venom? I know they're both kind of like a budget brand...
Thanks for the replies!

thats alot of money for 1 set of batteries. If your just a basher than check out:
www.all-battery.com - tenergy (BETTER PRICES)
and
www.batteryspace.com - powerizer
of course their not as good as IB, but definately good packs for the price - still way better than JUNK VENOM PACKS:D
have in mind that the heart of a electric powered rc car are the batteries.the better you have the faster you go.and no stress to the esc.i have both IBs and VPs.both are excellent for bashing..the VPs for the price is a good buy...:)
but nothing compares with lipos..if you interest i can send you a cheep and very good lipo link..but you will need and a charger for lipo...the difference my friend is huge..:)

also in australia. (where are you, im in brizzy!)
i got 2 packs for 80 bucks for vapextech 4300mah. happy with them, but with my BL system toned right down they survive well, but cranking up the timing to med for 5 minutes they were super hot! stock batteries are nothing compared to them... yet interllect are another step up from that. if you dont mind waiting a few weeks-a month or even possibly more) i know a friend who knows the wholesaler/importer and can get them really cheap. so i could buy some for you... but it could take a while, as its a fair way away, and my friend is extremely busy. good value though. not tried the 4600's but i think the 4300's would be sufficient. let me know :) ( i got 3 sets of them)

I am in Sydney...
I decided to pick up the eBay vapextech 4600... A$58 equals about 55 Euro... so I must've got a pretty good deal with the 4600mah ones off eBay.
I'm not ready to go LiPo yet as my esav is full stock and still even have the tamiya plugs on it... hoping to convert to deans soon...
Lucky I stayed away from buying cheap Venoms on the same day I bought my esav... I haven't heard anything good about them...

I've used the Vapex batteries once and even the very first time, there is a considerable amount of difference compared to the stock HPI batteries. I would say they are worth the money! I'm happy I made the purchase...

G'day
Have 2 6 cell 4600mAh vapex. Couldn't recommend them more. :)
Fine with the brushless setup as well.
And before that you will need to adjust your slipper or break stuff!
Power increase was 100% had trouble keeping it off it's lid!
Good batt at the right price.
Oh and get some deans on, you'll need them.
Also standard charger works fine. Just need twice at 4amps for a full charge.
look here.

Info on cells here, for those interested.

Please explain to this noob... when you say need twice at 4amps, are you saying you need to charge it til it stops with standard HB charger, then disconnect and recharge again? I thought the HB charger will charge it til full, but just take 45 minutes or so to charge instead...
And when you say adjust slipper, what do you mean by that? And what would you adjust it to?
