Hi, I am new to the forums and farily new to RC, love the Savage but lately it is in auto-run as soon as I switch on TR and receiver. It still responds to commands but tends to run off on its own, it is as if interfernce from another radio is around. I have tested it with nothing else nearby and it is still doing it. It has taken a few good jumps etc, any ideas??? New receiver needed??? Thx

...Transmitter (TX) on FIRST and THEN the batteries in the truck?

...Is your ANTENNA away from anything metal? ie not touching the chassis?

...Your antenna hasnt been cut? Maybe the wire has come unattached or has been cut?

...Are your RECIEVER (RX) and ESC as far away from each other as you can get them?

...Is your antenna touching a motor? Is your antenna straight or have you wrapped it around something?

...JrDale you want your antenna up in the air, away from anything metal...You want your reciever in the radio box at the front and the ESC at the rear, like stock, is always good...

...And you ALWAYS want your transmitter ON before you connect your batteries...Check all this stuff out, see what happens and then get back to us...

its one thing to have a glitch, but to run away? If it is bone stock, I would say its the Rx. If you have a buddy with a different set of frequency crystals in his car, borrow them to see if it does it on different crystals. Down the road, if you do upgrade the radio, go for "FM" - there are like 30 different freq. crystals as compared to the stock radio which is "AM" - there are only 6 choices. Did you possibly hit any water? That will definately make your reciever stupid:D

I sometimes had runaways when i turned off my tx before my rx... The mm slammed full throtle for ~2secs.. Pretty anoying  Anyways that tought me to turn on tx before rx and swith it off the oposite way...
Never experienced this on the stock tx/rx though.

well~
there is another possiblelity where the throttle trim on the Tx is messed up, someone could have accidently moved it.
However, if this is the case, other funcion such as turnig will still works. braking might or might now work depending on how the throlle are set.

Thanks guys for all the replies, yes Tx first receiver after always done, might have got wet, Tx batteries good. Switching to Dx3R to see if that improves outcomes and to cover some other models. Will see what happens. JD
