I've had the driveshafts out and the two halves don't slide freely all the way in and out. At the length they are as assembled they are rather tight. Grease doesn't seem to help. There also isn't a difference if I rotate one section 180 deg. before inserting. Since all my shafts do this I assume others have noticed the same thing or is it just me?

Sounds like they are twisted slightly.

These are brand new and haven't been run yet. It is the same with the drive axles and center drive shafts. I did boil them but I noticed this even before. So yours slide nice and free all the way in and out? Think I should take it up with hpi?

That's just the way they are. They only move very little while running and never go all the way in. That is where they get tight. If you dont like them, you can replace them with Traxxas Maxx and they wont do that.

...sounds like you have them lined up properly with the BIG rib and the LITTLE rib in their right slots so thats not it...I taper my MALE by slightly trimming them at an angle and then i taper the FEMALE where the male fits in...Keeps everything sliding nicely :D And dont forget a light coating of your favourite lube :o
