The manual says do not run in sand, I was wondering what everybody thought about this. I know you can water/dust proof everything but I am just curious if it is really needed.

WTF, it doesn't state that anywhere in the manual, stop trolling

Sand may be an issue on a car with 48 or 64 pitch gears which can strip from grains jamming into the spur gear, but it's hardly going to trouble a Mod 1 set up with a hardened steel spur

I suppose you could make a guard to keep sand from spraying into the esc fan, but keep it flowing air....I wouldn't want sand in there...

glue a piece of foam to the top of the esc fan and wrap some foam around the ends of the motors so they can still breathe:cool:

I seen somebody use an Outerwaers pull start cover over the ESC, not a bad idea I think.

Try looking at page 6 in "Places not to run"

Also states not to run on public roads. How many do you think follow that?

Thanks for the back and forth. Sounds like a good place to stop this thread.
