Default Burshless for stock truck

I'm looking for an inexpensive brushless motor for a mostly stock esavage. I picked up a cheap 100a esc and now I'm having a heck of a time picking a motor. I don't want to be breaking parts on a constant basics so a lower KV setup will work. The Turnigy motors are perfect for the price but that doesn't matter if I can't get them. Should I wait till they are back in stock or just pickup another brand. I plan on running NIMH and may step up to LIPO in the future. These are what I have found so far.

If you don't mind buying used, I'm selling an Ammo 36-56 2600kV brushless motor that I used for my E-Savage. I purchased it not too long ago and I only used it for a month or two. It's been sitting on my desk since I sold my E-Savage. I can let it go for $35 shipped.

i went with the 3665sl with a 23t pinion it does 35mph everything else stock. I shimmed the diffs and mounted novack battery trays to the sides of the stock TVP's. I will have pics for you tommorrow. The battery trays were mounted by first mounting a sheet of plexiglass to the TVP's cut to the same shape. The existing screws sandwich the plexi to the TYPs. Then the battery trays mount to the plexi. Nice and clean. I also used the ezrun 150amp esc with the ezrun 3665sl. Starting to work the bugs out, not very many of them.

By the way tons of torque...........

Pics coming tommorrw.

I'd say the best motor of those is the 3665. the rest of them use a 380 size rotor and you will have way too much heat in the system with those.

i have the 3665 and im constantly blowing diffs everytime i take it out... And i wouldent recomend brushless at all. The more speed you have the more problems you get. And im usuing 2 2s lipos and its un-drivable even with a wheelie bar it constantly flips........... If your gonna get the 3665... Hope you have a big wallet

I used the Ammo 36-56-2600kV motor and MMP and I never had diff issues or any power-train issues when I took the brushless route with the Esav.

With my CC sidewinder 5700kv powered Rustler I had issues at first and then just learned how to drive the thing without hitting stuff or being too rough on it. The rusty is made of glass compared to the e-savy. So far I haven't had anything break that would take me out of the game. One of the bumper posts broken when I hit a tree head on and a body post snapped but that is it. Also the body is nearly shot from my dog biting the heck out of it. And even the body post, I was able to put it back on and just lower it and no issues. This is one tough truck.

Hmm well all im saying is before i got a brushless motor it was a lot more fun all i broke in a year was the body and 1 driveshaft, and the consant wheelies are annoying, the only real benefit ive seen is the run times are a LOT longer now.... but then again it usualy breakes before the batteries run out

Well I ended up getting the Ammo 36-56-2600kv motor and coupled that with a Quik-100a/HK 100a esc. I love it. Geared at 21t with stock pinion its way faster than stock, run times are in the 20-25 min mark, enough power to pull a wheelie but also very controllable. I haven't broken any parts with it and love the whine of the single motor.

The quik-100a esc was a little finicky to work with until I got the program card. Only weird thing is I have to disconnect one of the motor wires before it will arm its self. Once I pull it back in after arming it works fine. For $50 it was well worth the price.

I'm running cheap batteries and couldn't be happier with the performance.
