Default Rhino/bed lined skid plates?

This was just a random thought but how well do you think skid plates would hold up if they were sprayed with a truck bed liner?

Try it and maybe truck bed liners are meant to be durable and scratch proof, i dont see how this would really help the skid plates as they are plastic and will still crack, break. They dont call the SKID plates for nuffin you know!

I was also thinking on aluminum skids. It may just make for sense to go for the carbon fiber skids at this point rather than aluminum. I've seen where people have problems with bent skids and thought maybe this could help prevent that but maybe not. Those bedliner coatings usually give a little.

A few months ago I saw a show called smash lab. They coated a block building with rhino liner and detonated 4 sticks of dynamite like 2 feet from the structure. They had a car behind the dynamite to keep the blast toward the wall. The blocks crumbled in places but the building stood because of the rhino liner. I'm thinking it was like a quarter inch of the liner inside and out.

I may give it a go with the plastic skids just to see how long they last and how long the coating stays on. I googled the idea first and found a emaxx forum that quickly turned to the topic of shoe goo and how well it fixed a guys shoes.

Thumbs up bed liner idea on skid plate

I don't think aluminum is the best option for skids. Gets damaged/bent too easily and it weighs too much. The bed liner on an stock plastic skid plate may be good idea. Not sure if it would add a bunch of weight though?

Let us know how it works out. Would be cool to see.
