Default Shock help

right now I have 8 CEN genesis shocks on my e-sav and even with a soft setup its too much for the little guy. If i want to just go down to 4 shocks does it matter what position I have the 4 on? I noticed on my Muggy the rear shocks are behind the arms and the front shocks are in front of the arms. is this a typical setup for 4 shocks? Thanks.

I run 4 shocks, with 4 black springs and "stock" shock oil. My front shocks are in front of the a arms and my rears are behind it, i dont find any advantage to it, i just prefer the looks over anything else.

There's some advantage to run them behind the shock towers and upper arms to protect the shock shafts from damage ...assuming they can fit on either side without any interference issues.
