Question

Kosta's back and way up front too, and today he didn't even have to use his AK!

hm, i thought a 10% eff. diff. would be from going from brushed to brushless ? I know you say numbers cant be trusted from these ppl, but also thought both hobbywing and medusa efficient is around 89-91% ? Anyhow the other day i saw that tekin has different rotors, with 12.3-12.5-13-14mm diameter. no other info..

http://www.teamtekin.com/blmotors.html

I dont measure my magnet+can diameters, as they came all off 36mm motors. now im wondering it the velineon rotor had bigger diameter than the ammo since it was shorter. whats the deal about rotor/stator clearance ? does this clearance lessen with heat ?

Even though the velineon motor has a stepped rotor shaft/magnet carrier(lol) that is larger than its 3mm motor shaft, do all common 36mm motors carry the magnet on a 5mm shaft end-2-end ?

Do you know which motor resemble the internal plettenberg motor the most ? would that be a nice guideline or what

Can common motors' 'parts' be used differently ? meaning, if a Medusa is highly efficient, then, is that meaning the magnet is stronger than 'typical average', or the windings are so? is there a common assumpt ? if only the 'can' would be the efficient part in a medusa or some other motor, im thinking how can one match a new/other/bigger rotor ?

It did not look easy to get the magnet off' the rotor shaft either on velineon or ammo motor, there's those' alloy ends on the shaft. (and how to get those off without heating the motor shaft, damaging the magnet?) In case of demagnetization/overheating and such, it would be nice to know some more on how to find a replacement rotor, or magnet. Oh. is it cheaper to buy motors instead..lol

The medusa motor has this annoying 5mm rear shaft (cant remember if this was becos of airplane usage or not, and i didnt find any use for it too), only know some people mount a pinion there. A tiny propeller could be mounted for..? cooling ? sort of like the Plettenburg!?

this pic give me idea i could put an ammo rotor inside a velineon stator/motor can. afair the velineon stator windings are thicker than the ammo's, and the magnet is shorter than the ammo's.

not that the ammo (upper)looks nice, it looks tangled/tampered with. How can Great Planes balance the rotor physically by cutting the magnet, and still the magnetic proper balance be right ? or, how do they know whether they're removing mass of the north or south ?
