Default New to Savages, getting a Flux Soon!

Alright, I'm pretty new to Savages, as I have been a Losi and traxxas fanboy for the past 5 years. But I think I'm going to pick up a used savage flux, but i'm waiting for a good deal with lots of upgrades. Now O have a few questions. First off, I think i'm going to want the standard flux length, but I'm wonder about the XL and Desertboy lenghts. With the longer chassis, i assume there will be no more standing backflips? If so, I think I'll stick with the standard size, but i wanted to be sure. As far as upgrades, I've gathered that good ones are:

TCS 5mm chassis
Big Bore shocks
HD Gears
Bulletproof diffs
Velcro Battery straps

What else?

Also, I plan on running 4s, 5s, and 6s. I'm think of getting two 3s lipos, and two 2s lipos from hobbycity. I'm a fan of as high of mah and C rating as possible, so what would be good Lipos to get from HC? I prefer Turnigy over Flightmax (Links would be great).

Anything else I should know? Thanks

welcome to the madness
best site for fluxing ideas and crazy big brushless info

looks like you have checked out most of the essentials also most of the nitro savage upgrade parts will fit or have already been incorporated into the flux

well worth a look at gcm racing site to check out his builds and other fruity flux bits for sale

his alloy battery box mounts would be a good addition to your list

and hey show us some pics of your other rcs we like pics and we love bashing videos

did someone say bash video !?! If so, I'm in.

That flux savage is a great beast for bashing, and you can still do a one and a half back flip with a desertboy xl on 4s. Don't worry, it will still be totally overpowered but will handle properly for once. The DB-17 will do a flip also if you have enough battery power and wallet size HAHA .

HK has a bunch of real good 2 and 3s packs that are 5000 mah with 40c. Those are sick, and they have all the massive bullet plugs on them already and you can just plug them in series or whatever for how many cells you want to run that day! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=10305 this battery actually takes 5300 mah or there abouts, even though it's a 5000. All of their batteries tend to be that way for some reason. A bit under rated.
GET A FLUX, they are a fun machine, even all stock they rock.

Just checking, but is this really the best site for savage flux info? This forum is only getting around 10-20 posts a week.

We are a community dealing with electro powered savages for long time...

Compared to nitro powered communities we have knowledge advantages when it commes to the electronic department

In the end it depends on your views and preferences. if you are seeking quality over quantity, than you are right here!

in my humble opinion yes people here have been running flux size e-savs and nitro conversions well before the flux was envisioned by hpi so most of the electronic and motor/esc questions were already tried bashed and thrash tested before they even got asked elsewhere
huge depth of knowledge all round and if you start looking then you see quite a lot of members here also post and surf on savage central and rc monster and beat your truck and a few other sites
personally i find e-savage.com to be friendly and just plain fun

I made up my mind, Im going to buy a savage flux. My e savage is cool but I want the real deal. I was going to make a 1/6 e savage but KD f***ed me out of a direct drive so guess i will just make it nitro again. I hope to have the flux hp by next month.
edit-I just received the direct drive so that's back on. soon I will have 3 nasty savages, cant wait.
